Never the Same River

Polymode is honored to have designed the 2D graphic system for Never The Same River for the Ford Foundation Gallery, curated by Dexter Wimberly. The visual identity draws on the exhibition’s themes of movement, transformation, and impermanence, using the expressive typefaces Elido and Ninna to create a sense of fluidity and contrast across environmental, print, and digital applications. Vibrant greens and yellows bring energy to the system, set against the main exhibition space’s dark burgundy walls. Together, the typography and color system create a dynamic visual language that reflects the exhibition’s exploration of bodily autonomy, migration, and the ever-changing nature of identity. The exhibition features work by KV Duong, Adama Delphine Fawundu, Brendan Fernandes, Elliot & Erick Jiménez, Anoushka Mirchandani, and Edison Peñafiel.
