Sargent Claude Johnson
Exhibition design

Polymode is honored to have designed the publication and exhibition graphics for the Sargent Claude Johnson show at The Huntington. For the exhibition, the studio created a color system with bright and dark blues, rich and deep naturals, and accents of bright yellow and gold that helped differentiate the bodies of work. These colors guide viewers through the exhibition, including tactile elements that include braille and 3d printing. Direct printing on painted wood was a sustainable production method for the large didactic panels. All of these visual and typographic elements were designed in tandem with the print publication.
